The 99.99 MWac large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) project in Segamat, Johor, Malaysia, a key project under Malaysia’s PETRA 5+ programme, is being steadily constructed. With professional solar mounting solutions, Chiko Solar has become a core supporter of the project. The project has an AC installed capacity of 99.99 MWac and an actual DC capacity of 155.828 MW. After completion, it will greatly increase Malaysia’s installed renewable energy capacity and help the country reach its 7GW PV installation goal by 2030.

Malaysia is close to the equator with abundant sunlight resources. However, coastal salt fog and severe convective weather impose strict requirements on the corrosion resistance and stability of solar brackets. Having been engaged in the overseas PV market for 15 years, Chiko Solar has customized high-strength mounting systems suitable for the climate of Johor. Made of hot-dip galvanized steel and high-quality aluminum alloy with double anti-corrosion treatment, the brackets can resist humid salt fog corrosion. They have passed accurate wind pressure and mechanical load tests to adapt to local windy weather, ensuring 25 years of stable operation of the power station.

During project construction, Chiko Solar gives full play to its technical and service strengths. Equipped with standard accessories and pre-installed holes, together with high-efficiency pile driving installation system, more than 500 sets of brackets can be installed per day, raising construction efficiency by 30% compared with traditional ways, shortening construction period and enabling early grid connection. Meanwhile, relying on its global service network, Chiko Solar provides full-cycle services including solution design, terrain survey and installation guidance with one-on-one technical docking, ensuring efficient coordination between bracket installation and power station construction.

As another benchmark project of Chiko Solar in Malaysia, the completed power station will supply clean power to the national grid under a 21-year power purchase agreement, meeting the annual power demand of tens of thousands of households and reducing huge carbon emissions.
